Web development company for London businesses

From a marketing site that has to win enquiries to a logged-in platform your team relies on every day, we plan, build and look after the web software your business depends on.

“Web development” covers a lot of ground, which is why quotes for what sounds like the same project can differ by a factor of ten. A brochure site with a contact form, a Shopify store and a multi-tenant booking platform are different pieces of work, with different risks and different people needed to do them well.

So the first thing we do is work out which one you actually need. Plenty of businesses are sold a custom build when a well-configured WordPress site would do the job, and plenty of others outgrow a page builder years before anyone admits it. We would rather tell you that early than build the wrong thing.

How we choose the stack

We default to technology that is widely used, well documented and easy to hire for. For most custom work that means Laravel on the server, MySQL or PostgreSQL for data, and either server-rendered pages or React and Vue where the interface needs it. Content-led sites often suit WordPress or a headless CMS. If another developer can’t pick your project up in a year’s time, we have chosen badly.

Built for search and speed from the first commit

Search and performance get expensive when they are bolted on at the end. We work out URL structure, page templates, metadata and structured data during planning, and we keep an eye on page weight throughout the build. If you are moving an existing site, redesign and migration work includes redirect mapping, so you keep the rankings you have already earned.

Why companies come looking for a new web team

A site nobody dares touch

Small changes take weeks or break something else, usually because of years of unplanned additions and no automated tests.

A template you have outgrown

Plugins are fighting each other, the checkout or booking flow can’t do what the business needs, and workarounds are piling up.

Traffic that doesn’t turn into enquiries

People arrive and leave. Slow pages, unclear messaging and awkward forms are often to blame, rather than the marketing.

A developer who has moved on

The person who built it isn’t answering, and nobody else has the access details or understands how it was put together.

What a web project can include

Marketing websites

Fast, editable sites for service businesses, with page templates that your own team can use to publish without a developer.

Web applications

Dashboards, portals, booking and workflow tools with user accounts, permissions and reporting.

CMS builds

WordPress, headless or custom content management, chosen by how your team actually publishes.

Integrations

Connections to your CRM, payment provider, accounting package or internal systems, with proper error handling.

Migrations

Moving content, users and SEO value from an old platform without losing them along the way.

Support afterwards

Security updates, monitoring and small changes, so that the site doesn’t start decaying the day it launches.

Web Development questions

How much does a website cost in the UK?
It depends on what the site has to do. A small marketing site is a very different budget from a custom web application. Our guide to website costs sets out the published UK ranges and what moves a price up or down. We quote against an agreed scope once we understand your project.
Do you only work with businesses in London?
No. We focus on London and work with businesses across the UK. Most project work runs well remotely, with regular calls and shared project tools.
Will I own the code?
That is our expectation for custom work, and it should be written into the contract. Whoever you hire, check that you will own the code and hold the hosting, domain and repository access in your own name.
