Custom Software

Custom CRM development

HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive are excellent products, and most companies should start with one. Custom CRM is for when your process really doesn’t fit, and the licence bill keeps rising anyway.

Before building a CRM, ask whether you need to. Off-the-shelf CRMs have years of work behind them in email sync, reporting and mobile apps, and you’d be rebuilding all of that. A far cheaper route is often to integrate or extend the tool you’ve already got, or to pay for a proper configuration of it.

A custom CRM tends to pay off in a few situations. Your relationships don’t look like a sales pipeline at all: think of a broker managing properties, tenants and landlords at once, or a recruiter tracking candidates, roles and clients together. Your team spends its day in operations that the CRM can’t see, so people live in spreadsheets anyway. Or you have many users, and the licence costs have grown larger than the cost of owning your own system.

Adoption decides whether it succeeds

Most failed CRMs don’t fail technically. People just don’t enter data, because doing so helps management more than it helps them. We design around that: fewer required fields, automatic capture of whatever can be captured from email and calls, and screens that make salespeople’s own lives easier. If the CRM can’t help the person typing into it, the data will be poor, whichever system you’ve chosen.

Reasons people look beyond standard CRMs

Your data model isn’t “contacts and deals”

Multi-sided relationships end up forced into custom objects and awkward workarounds.

Rising per-seat costs

Paying for hundreds of seats plus add-ons, when most staff need only a small part of it.

Sales and operations disconnected

Once a deal is won, everything moves to spreadsheets and the CRM loses sight of the customer.

CRM services

Bespoke CRM systems

Contact, pipeline and activity management designed around how your team sells.

CRM integrations

Syncing HubSpot, Salesforce or Dynamics with finance, operations and your website.

Data migration

De-duplicating and importing years of records, without losing their history.

Email and calendar sync

Automatic activity capture through Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

Reporting

Dashboards that answer the questions your managers actually ask.

CRM Development questions

Should we build a CRM or use HubSpot or Salesforce?
Start from the assumption that you should buy. Build only if your process really doesn’t fit, or if the long-term licence cost exceeds what it would cost to build and run your own.
Can you connect our CRM to our other systems?
Yes, and it’s often the best value first step. Most major CRMs have well-documented APIs.
How do you handle GDPR in a CRM?
We build in lawful-basis tracking, retention rules, data subject export and deletion, plus access controls. You’ll also need your own privacy processes in place.
