On-page SEO services

On-page SEO means making each page the clearest possible answer to a specific search. It isn’t about a keyword density score or hitting a green light in a plugin.

The first check is intent. Search for the term you’re targeting and look at what ranks. If the results are all guides and your page is a sales page, or vice versa, then Google has already told you what searchers want, and fine-tuning won’t overcome that mismatch. Getting the page type right usually matters more than any amount of tweaking.

After that come the basics, and they’re very often wrong. The title tag should say what the page is about and give someone a reason to click. Google can rewrite titles, particularly when they’re over-long or stuffed with keywords. The main heading should match. The page should cover what a searcher would reasonably want to know, including questions they’ll have next. Pages should also link to each other using descriptive text, since internal links help search engines and readers understand how things relate.

Fixing cannibalisation

Lots of sites have several pages competing for the same search, with none of them strong enough to win. Search Console can show you when different URLs alternate for one query. Often the best step is merging them into one stronger page with redirects from the others. We’d do this before writing anything new. For strategy across the whole site, see content SEO.

What we commonly find

Wrong page type

A sales page trying to rank for a question people want answered, or the other way around.

Pages stuck on page two

Relevant pages that need better coverage and more internal links.

Competing pages

Several weak URLs targeting the same thing and undercutting each other.

What we do

Page-by-page review

Comparison with what currently ranks, and a judgement on what’s missing.

Title and description rewrites

Accurate, clickable metadata, tested where the data allows.

Content improvements

Filling gaps, adding clarity and removing padding.

Internal linking

On-Page SEO questions

What is keyword density, and does it matter?
It’s the share of words on a page that are your keyword. It isn’t a useful target. Write naturally, cover the topic well and use the terms your customers use.
Why did Google change my title?
Google sometimes rewrites titles when it thinks another version better describes the page, often because the original is too long, stuffed with keywords or inaccurate.
How quickly will on-page changes work?
Sometimes within weeks of a page being recrawled, but it varies. Changes on competitive terms may need supporting work, such as links, to make a real difference.
